On May 15, 2008, a federal grand jury Los Angeles indicted 49-year-old Lori Drew of O’Fallon, Missouri, on charges of unauthorized access to a computer, typically used in hacking cases. Yet, Drew's alleged actions had little to do with computer intrusions.

It's a very dangerous and slippery slope we fashion when the government wants you to go to jail for lying.

Freedom of speech should include lying, except in furtherance of a crime.

The government should look at the underlying facts in this case. Was there intent to provoke suicide? Perhaps that should be illegal.

Do adults have certain responsibilities in dealing with children? If so, what are they? May they lie?

I think the government is far too protective of corporations rather than children.
